If you run things for people on the other side of the Atlantic, this one is for you. Ashburn, Virginia is back on the map at NODED: as of today you can deploy a KVM VPS in the United States, on the same plans and the same panel you already use for Europe.

Why a self hoster wants a box in Virginia
Most of what we see people run on NODED is self hosted software: chat servers, automations, media, monitoring. All of it runs fine from Europe until the people using it live somewhere else. A few cases where Ashburn earns its place:
Your chat server has an American half

Your automations mostly talk to American APIs
A large share of the SaaS APIs you connect to run in Northern Virginia, since that is where AWS keeps its biggest region. A workflow that makes twenty API calls pays the transatlantic round trip twenty times. Move the runner next to the APIs and a slow flow becomes a quick one. You want to know your site is up from outside Europe

Prices are in euro before VAT where it applies, and traffic is unmetered on every plan. Streaming plans share the node's 10 Gbps uplink with no speed cap per server.
The latency, measured instead of guessed
We pinged our own European nodes from the new Ashburn machine on 24 September 2026. Frankfurt answered in 97 ms, Amsterdam and Vienna in 108 ms, Warsaw in 113 ms and Bucharest in 138 ms. So the honest rule is simple: users in North America go to Ashburn, users in Europe stay in Europe, and a service with both gets one server on each side.
What is inside the new node
AMD EPYC 9754 processors, enterprise NVMe drives with power loss protection, and a ZFS pool with parity so a dead drive is a maintenance task instead of an outage. Each VPS is a full KVM virtual machine with its own kernel, not a container sharing one with strangers.

Does my data stay in the EU if I pick Ashburn?
No. Ashburn is in the United States. If you store personal data about people in the EU, putting it there is a transfer outside the EU under GDPR. Keep that data on one of our European locations, or check your legal basis before you move it.
Can I pay by the hour in Ashburn?
Yes, on all six hourly plans, with the same 720 hour monthly cap as our other locations. Streaming plans are billed monthly or longer.
Does a stopped server still cost money?
Yes. A powered off hourly VPS still holds its disk and IP address, so it keeps billing. Delete it when you are done and the meter stops.
What does the Ashburn location fee add?
On top of the base plan price, the US location fee runs from €1.50 a month on VPS I to €20 on VPS VI, exactly what Germany and Austria cost, and from €4.50 to €24 on the streaming plans. The checkout shows the exact total before you pay.
Can I move an existing server to Ashburn?
Order a new server in Ashburn, copy your data across, then cancel the old one. With hourly billing the overlap costs very little, and we are happy to help plan it.
